‘consistency’, the second lp from the berlin-based techno artist. the 11 track release follows 2014’s ‘en route’ and will be released on heiko laux’s label kanzleramt, a label with which kajioka has worked with closely for over a decade. consistency lp bears all the marks of a kajioka release: a collection of deep, driving, groove-laden and synth-focused cuts. heady grooves which leave little question why ray kajioka is held in such high regard among techno veterans, called upon regularly for remix honours by the the likes of heiko laux, joel mull, pan-pot, elbee bad, alexander kowalski and marc romboy, to name but a few. kajioka’s reputation for faultless production remains consistent on this, his sophomore lp. the full, extended physical release of consistency contains 3 vinyl disks: 2 x 12” lp disks plus a free, bonus 12”.

its the music of the space that extends between oceans and mountain slopes. its the music of the space that is much bigger and much more adventurous than the four walls of a club look like. its the latest record on acker, and it orbits around a song from il civetto. the band from berlin is a wonderfully multicultural bunch. their sound is reminiscent of gypsy, folk or swing, but at the same time it doesnt really fit any of these labels. liberté ana is a perfect example. monolink turns this track into a groovy downbeat tune that vibrates much higher than its low bpm count - the perfect soundtrack for laid-back afternoons or afterhours. pophop does what he does best: party. however, between the catchy bassline and the tight percussions of his remix theres still a lot of space for the soul of liberté ana. umami goes even further and creates an ecstatic banger that has everything it takes to be played during the prime time on the dance floor.

after releasing their own debut record in 2014 the hamburg based group sky walking formed by peter kersten, christian naujoks and richard von der schulenburg now celebrates the launch of their self-titled label. by bringing together an international line-up of artists mostly associated with the new and experimental music scenes in cities like hamburg, berlin and new york sky walking not only establishes a link between different locations and their specific (local) scenes – with the golden pudel club in hamburg somehow functioning as a bermuda triangle – but also between different generations of artists from these scenes.

berlin based adam marshall and christian andersen collaborate as graze. in the latest installment of our ufo series, the dekmantel records offshoot dedicated to experimental and futuristic electronic music, the canadian veteran producers serve up a 50/50 lethal/dreamy drum trax package. many have applauded the versatility of graze, and their xup ep is yet more proof of their original minds. xup is an abstract 4/4 jugular, beating out devious percussive patterns and rattling hi-hats over a grizzled and arpeggiated synth mortar-fire. vast on the other hand is an esoteric slow-burner, a hallucinatory trip to the depths of analog synth paradise and a perfect intro, outro or home listening gem. on the flip, the hyper-lean gearshift of tryptch pumps energy through off-kilter and plunderphonic basslines, while shadow play’is a classic piece of breakbeat bliss including a celestial synth arrangement that makes a perfect soundtrack for slow-speed sci-fi rides.

rroxymore’s music is an intriguing, one-off blend of contrasting textures - organic and synthetic, icy and warm - a fresh step in dance music. real name hermione frank, the french musician and producer has a long history making music in various ways, with various people, before settling in berlin and concentrating on the solo project that refines it all.
as rroxymore, she released her epic 10-minute debut “wheel of fortune” in the summer of 2012 - half of split a 12” with planningtorock on the latter’s own human level label. human level also provided the outlet for rroxymore’s first ep, precarious/precious, the following year. the four tracks combined nervous grooves, bewitching cosmic synths, twisted snippets of acoustic instruments and other intriguing sounds. live, rroxymore creates rhythms and sounds with energetic rawness merging with a stirring psychedelia, taking you into a new world.
